My speaker is designed for long-term reliability. It’s not about superficial showmanship. Of course, a speaker that sounds loud, present, and detailed makes an impression at first. But when you sit down in peace and listen for an hour or two, that speaker that was so exciting at the start can suddenly become a bit annoying. What initially sounded so impressive and great now feels strained, and eventually you realize: okay, I just don’t feel like listening anymore, so I turn it off. That’s exactly what I don’t want. I want speakers that I listen to and that I still enjoy listening to even after several hours. I want to be drawn into the music. I don’t want to stop listening at all! And speakers that make a big splash at first often can’t do that! That’s why I don’t use a horn, I don’t use an aluminum tweeter, and I don’t use beryllium either. I use one of the world’s best silk dome tweeters.
Because I’ve come to the conclusion that hard materials always result in a harsh sound. If I want a soft sound—soft yet present—then I need a soft, flexible diaphragm material. Don’t get me wrong: these speakers showcase their qualities from the very first minute of listening. They sound present, detailed, and lively. As close to the original as possible. From the very first moment, you’ll love the deeply layered soundstage and the warm-toned, realistic vocal reproduction. And they can get downright sassy when the musician intended it that way! But they’ll never become annoying. That’s the difference!
